electrodes!
Yes!!! I had my first full day of work in the Human Emotions Lab yesterday. I got to take a certification test to work with human test subjects. Then later I got to be in an experiment. We were low on subjects so they used me. It was completely painless, I was actually really excited because I've always wanted to see how research on people works. There was an electrode on each of my hands, one on my back, and one on my ankle. Then there was a little belt around my chest to monitor my breathing. I got to watch some computer animations and a sine wave that put me to sleep. Then all the data went into a computer, and on Monday I'll get to see all the graphs. So far I just found out that I'm mostly in the average range, and heart rate was actually healthy. I was convinced with the amount of time I spend sitting in front a computer that I'd be up in 90 bpm or something, but I was only in the low 70s. Good genes I guess! ~ophelia
