driving Today I took two hours to go to the grocery store. I only wanted bananas and beer, and I've been there before. But after shopping I decided to look for the bookstore that was just up the road (or so I thought). I followed the road and it took me into a really pretty town but it wasn't where I wanted to go. Then I got off and attempted to get back on in the opposite direction, but the road wound through a senior citizen housing complex and eventually it seemed like I was in the right direction but it wasn't so. All this time everything was really pretty so I didn't stress. I had a map in my car unlike the first time I got lost, so I figured I would find my way eventually. It seems like I have a good sense of general direction in the long term, but in the short term I can feel totally clueless. Today I totally ended up bypassing my town on the way back home and had to wait till I hit a major road that I knew so I could take it back to my town. But still, its kind of good for this to happen. A couple more trips like this and I'll know all the areas around my town! - ophelia |
