wonderment

i love it when a seemingly random chain of events leads towards a great result.

Today online at work I started doing more psych research; looking up articles. Then I found a whole book on deception that was at the library right by my next class.

I went there later to check it out, and the books were out of order so that I ended up in the communication section instead.

I found two other really great books; one called "Sex differences in human communication." I checked them all out and I'm totally loving the aforementioned book.

It was written in 1978 by a husband & wife researcher team, and a lot of the issues still hold true today. It's on similar topic manner to a book I browsed through just last week. That one made me sad because 1: i only had short access to the book, it belonged to a visiting girlfriend of a housemate of my friend, and 2: that book was skewed totally to make it a pop science/ self help book that made it look like women and men would never be able to understand each other. (It's title was "You Just Don't Understand: Women and Men in Conversation")

So...it makes me really happy to have this book. I even went on Amazon to add it to my wish list, but it was only 5 CENTS used so I just ordered it. I can't wait to begin underlining and marking it all up to add to my personal library ;)
